Makes a 12-16 inch pizza.
This doozy of a pizza is for bacon cheeseburger lovers!
This Ooni recipe was developed for their outdoor pizza ovens, but you can make this in your kitchen oven—if you go this route, we suggest following the baking temperature and timing guidelines from a pizza recipe you've made successfully in the past.
Prepare the pizza dough and sauce ahead of time. This recipe uses Ooni's Classic Pizza Sauce and Classic Pizza Dough recipes, but feel free to use your favorite recipes (store-bought is fine)—cook time may need to be adjusted.
Don't have all the ingredients for the Burger Sauce? Store-bought Thousand Islands dressing is a good substitute. Or, try yellow mustard if that sounds better to you!
Helpful to have: A kitchen scale, an infrared thermometer to measure pizza oven temperature, a pizza peel.
- 5 tablespoons Classic Pizza Sauce
- 3.5 ounces (100 grams) cooked ground beef, crumbled
- 2 strips of bacon, cooked and crumbled
- 1.5 ounces (50 grams) mozzarella, torn into chunks
- 1.5 ounces (50 grams) American cheese cut into small pieces
- 1 dill pickle, sliced into coins
- 3 iceberg lettuce leaves, finely shredded
Burger Sauce Ingredients
- 4 tablespoons mayonnaise
2 tablespoons ketchup
2 teaspoons sugar
1tablespoons white wine vinegar
1 teaspoon cracked black pepper

You will need a dough ball weighing 8.8-11.6 ounces (250-330 grams). The dough ball should be ready for cooking.
Make the Classic Pizza Sauce and the Burger Sauce.
Prepare topping ingredients.
Make Burger Sauce
Mix ingredients together in small bowl.
Make the pizza
Heat an Ooni pizza oven to 932° F (500° C). Use an infrared thermometer to check the pizza oven temp.
Lightly dust a pizza peel with flour.
Place the dough ball on the peel and use your palm to flatten it.
Using fingertips, gently press dough into a flat round, working outward from the center of the ball.
Gently pick up dough and stretch to 12 or 16 inches, allowing the weight of the dough to stretch it.
Spread Classic Pizza Sauce evenly over dough, leaving a one-inch border all around.
Top with cheese, beef, and bacon.
Slide pizza off the peel and into the pizza oven.
Cook, rotating frequently, until cheese is melted and crust is crisp with small charred bubbles. This should take only a few minutes.
Remove cooked pizza and let cool for one minute.
Top with pickle and shredded lettuce.
Finish by drizzling ribbons of Burger Sauce (or yellow mustard) over pizza.
