It’s hard to tell this Deckorators® post cap is a solar post cap—you can’t see the collector! The genius design hides the solar collector. Instead, the frosted lens allows sunlight to pass through and recharge the batteries.
Post cap inside dimensions: 3-5/8 in. x 3-5/8 in. Fits 3-1/2 in. x 3-1/2 in. posts.
The included rechargeable AA batteries will last about a year. Replace with rechargeable batteries only. The LED light bulbs should last about 10 years (that’s based on normal usage of 6-8 hours per day).
Pressure-treated or Western red cedar base. Attach to post with exterior-grade construction adhesive. Allow batteries to fully charge in direct sunlight for 24-48 hours.
