This Deckorators® solar post cap doesn’t look like your typical solar post cap. The solar collector is hidden so all you see is the low-profile light. It’s not magic, it’s clever engineering. The frosted lens allows sunlight to pass through and recharge the batteries.
Post cap inside dimensions: 3-5/8 in. x 3-5/8 in. Fits 3-1/2 in. x 3-1/2 in. posts.
The included rechargeable AA batteries will last about a year. Replace with rechargeable batteries only. The LED light bulbs should last about 10 years (that’s based on normal usage of 6-8 hours per day).
Choose pressure-treated or Western red cedar base. Attach to post with exterior-grade construction adhesive. Allow batteries to fully charge in direct sunlight for 24-48 hours.
