If you’re installing Deckorators® sleek ALX Cable Railing on stairs, you’ll need to put this post at the bottom of your stair rail. It's predrilled on one side (this is the side where you will pull the cables through and terminate the run). You'll need to drill the holes on the opposing side (so they'll align with your stair incline). The hardware that tightens and secures the cables is hidden in the post.
The post is heavy-gauge aluminum, thickly powder-coated for a uniform, durable, hard finish that weathers outdoor exposure beautifully. Post has a leveling plate and predrilled aluminum base. Post fasteners are not included. A matching post cap and post base trim are included to finish your post. You can replace the included post cap with a lighted post cap if you wish (sold separately).
Choosing your post: Note that the Bottom Post needs to be taller than the Top Post. To determine the height you need, add the deck rail height + stair riser height. Post can be trimmed.
To complete your cable stair railing project, you will need a Top Rail Kit, Line or End Posts for the top, Middle Stair Posts, and Cable Kits.
Helpful to have: Mandrel & Wheel kit to trim cable cleanly, Cable Release Key to release cable tension in case of mistakes.
