Product Overview
Authentic reclaimed barn wood might come with authentic bugs and authentic mold. Eww. A better way to get that authentic look? UFP-Edge Red Rustic Shiplap. You'd swear it came from a forgotten red barn in rural Pennsylvania.
This shiplap is made by surface-distressing new, high-grade boards to get a rich, rustic ridged texture. Boards are then factory primed and coated with low V.O.C. paint - all ready for your cool projects.
With rabbeted edges, the shiplap boards overlap without gaps. Exposed face is 4-5/8 inches. Ends butt together. Wood is kiln dried for minimal shrinking, swelling, and warping. Reversible boards are rough and painted on both sides.
And we really mean it when we say "rough." These boards are the polar opposite of smooth. We don't want you to waste time sanding, so if smooth is what you're after, please buy smooth boards.
DON'T INSTALL THESE OUTSIDE: Nope, just don't. If you take your chances anyway, you must use a wood protector sealant. Really.
READ THIS ABOUT COLOR: Boards are meant to look like they've grown up on a barn. Color varies from board to board, because of distressing and wood's natural characteristics. Paint will be lighter in some spots. Wood grain and knots might show through. If consistency is important, we recommend buying at least 10% more boards than you think you need. Embrace imperfection.
Installation notes: For accent walls, boards can be installed horizontally or vertically on walls and ceilings. In bathrooms: Seal boards with waterproof sealer. Not recommended for flooring or shelving.
