Product Overview
If you're looking for authentic barn wood you can safely use indoors, UFP-Edge Charcoal Rustic Shiplap was made for you. It's not true weathered barn wood because mold and bugs - gak. It's new, high-grade lumber surface distressed, primed and painted a dark charcoal color to look like wood salvaged from a forsaken old barn in North Carolina.
Rabbeted edges make installation easier. Boards overlap without gaps. Ends butt together. Exposed face is 4-5/8 inches. Kiln dried to minimize shrinking, swelling, and warping.
Charcoal color is like a sheer black. Color is worn in spots, heavier on others. Boards are painted and textured on both sides.
Be forewarned, friends. "Rough-sawn texture" means exactly that. This shiplap is for people who want the ridgy rusticness. Not for those who don't. The weekend will be sad if you miss it because you're too busy sanding down these boards.
DON'T USE THESE OUTSIDE: Nope, just don't. If you take your chances anyway, you must use a wood protector sealant. Really.
READ THIS ABOUT COLOR: Color may be lighter or darker in areas, because of distressing and wood's natural characteristics. Wood grain and knots might show. If consistent color is important for your project, we recommend buying at least 10% more boards than you think you need. Embrace imperfectness.
Installation notes: For accent walls, boards can be installed horizontally or vertically on walls and ceilings. Not recommended for flooring or shelving. In bathrooms: Seal boards with waterproof sealer.
