The result is charred shiplap ready for your project - which is good if your neighborhood has rules about trying shou sugi ban in your driveway. People love how the variations between boards creates a unique look.

Both sides of the boards have rabbeted edges for a true shiplap look. Boards overlap, ends butt up together. Exposed face is 4-5/8 inches. 4 boards cover about 12.33 square feet. Boards are kiln dried to reduce warp and shrinkage.

Top and edges of the boards are charred, not back. Stainable, but test first to make sure you like the result. A light satin clear coat protects charred areas from smudging. However, if you'll use it in high-traffic or wet areas (kitchen, bathroom), you must use a polyurethane sealer.
