Product Overview
High contrast, rustic appeal - these boards have it all, without overdoing it. Gray paint washed over a dark-charred surface makes these look like salvaged wood boards.
Colored charred wood is made by running boards through fire, burning top and edges (not the bottom). This highlights streaks and knots. Boards are then washed with gray paint. Natural wood peeks out in places. A light, non-shiny clear coat protects the surface.
UFP-Edge Ash Gray Charred Wood Trim Boards are project ready. No additional sealing is needed unless you plan to use them for furniture, or in busy areas like kitchens or wet areas like a backsplash or bathroom - then you need to protect them with a polyurethane sealer. MEANT FOR INDOOR USE ONLY.
READ THIS ABOUT COLOR: Some boards may be darker or lighter because the number of streaks and knots will vary. Color may be deeper or more intense in some areas (like around knots). If your project needs consistent color, we recommend ordering at least 10% more wood than you think you need.
